Calisthenics Club

Role: President

University of Cincinnati’s Calisthenics Club is a student-run organization focused on bodyweight training and progression toward dynamic skills. As president, I managed the club’s operations, structuring weekly workouts, developing beginners through foundational strength benchmarks, and sustaining a consistent membership of 20–30 members.

Partway through my term, I identified a gap between the club’s identity and its work. The existing logo felt generic and outdated, so I redesigned the mark, developed apparel, and managed the designs through print production. While branding wasn’t part of my role, I saw an opportunity to build a visual identity that reflected what the club stood for.

The Refresh

The redesign began by stripping the original logo down to its strongest idea: the classical column. Its classical root and shape reflects the strength, balance, and control central to calisthenics, while also connecting to the sport’s Greek origins.

I integrated the “CC” initials into the column and removed unnecessary elements to create a simpler, more distinctive mark that remains recognizable across apparel, equipment, and digital applications.
